Parenting can feel overwhelming when a child struggles with attention, emotional regulation, organization, or behavior.

Many parents find themselves searching for answers — reading articles, trying strategies, and wondering what actually helps.

Empowered Focus offers psychologist-led parent workshops designed to help families better understand ADHD, executive function skills, and everyday behavioral challenges.

These workshops provide practical, research-informed guidance in a supportive environment where parents can learn, ask questions, and leave with strategies they can begin using right away.

Parent workshops at Empowered Focus help families understand the skills and patterns that drive everyday behavior.

Topics often include:

  • understanding ADHD and executive function skills- in your children (and maybe in yourself)

  • learning how to really understand behavior using easy to collect data at home

  • reducing conflict around homework and creating sustainable daily routines

  • supporting emotional regulation and frustration tolerance

  • navigating screen time and technology with teens

  • helping children build independence and responsibility

Rather than focusing on quick fixes or rigid parenting rules, these workshops help parents understand what may be driving behavior and how to respond in ways that are more effective and less stressful.

Current and Upcoming Workshops

Empowered Focus offers a rotating series of workshops

  • My Child Was Diagnosed With ADHD: Now What?

A workshop for parents whose child has recently been diagnosed with ADHD — or who suspect ADHD may be part of the picture.

    Learn:

    • what ADHD actually means
    • how executive function affects behavior and learning
    • common myths about ADHD
    • practical first steps parents can take

  • My Child Was Diagnosed With ADHD...Do I Have It Too?

Many parents begin learning about ADHD after their child receives a diagnosis — and suddenly some of the descriptions start to feel surprisingly familiar. This workshop explores how ADHD and executive function challenges can show up in adults, especially for busy parents juggling work, family, and the mental load of everyday life.

    Parents learn:

    • how ADHD can present differently in adults
    • what executive function skills are and how they affect daily life
    • why many adults recognize ADHD traits only after their child is diagnosed

  • Why Is My Kid Doing That: How To Understand Behavior That Makes No Sense

A practical workshop that teaches parents how to understand behavior using a simple data collection technique.

    Parents learn how to:

    • identify patterns that drive challenging behavior
    • understand why certain behaviors keep happening
    • respond more effectively at home
